For me, Harry's War stands alongside 'All Quiet on the Western Front' as the definitive go to books for those interested in WW1. I am yet to come across a book so honest in its description of war and the traumas endured by soldiers in the trenches. The language and description is so rich and honest that you cannot help but love this book.I finished it in a couple of sittings and was so moved by the end ( the last couple of pages are brutal but so beautifully written).
A must read!
“The best factual account of life in the trenches”

The fact that Harry was local to where I live and work made his story even more poignant.
