I haven’t read surrounded by idiots but I’m very inclined to after reading this book.
The author wrote this book after his previous book surrounded by idiots was used to exploit and manipulate others, it’s sad that he had to write this but I’m pleased he did. The author uses a colour system to divide people into colours based on their personalities but he admits himself this is not perfect as some people such as myself who have mental health problems don’t fit into any colour. As someone who has bipolar disorder I’m a mixture of all 4 colours but using this colour system he gives helpful advice on how to avoid being manipulated.
I’m pretty savvy and when it comes to scams and being manipulated but during an episode of my illness I fell victim to an online scammer who played me like a symphony. I will use what I have learnt in this book to avoid ever being manipulated like that and I would highly recommend this book to anyone. While the colour system is not perfect all the tips and advice can be used by anyone to avoid being manipulated, those who manipulate other people don’t care about the feelings of their victims and I think this is a book that everyone should read at least once. I will definitely be reading more written by this author.
I previously read “surrounded by idiots” and therefore was convinced to read this one as well.It was quite interesting to read about how psychopaths in his eyes react and act and brought some clarity into human behaviours.I also enjoyed the listing of manipulative behaviour as it made me realise where in my life I had been manipulated in different ways without knowing.Definitely a good read, only to be read with good intentions
