This is the first Andy McNab book I've read and it didn't disappoint. The book does open with quite a shocking first chapter. There is certainly lots of action throughout the book.
At times the author does use quite a lot of heavy terminology which can be hard to get your head around, especially if you are not used to all the meanings. Overall, it's a good read even if the plotline of how the main character 'Tom Buckingham' ends up on the train is a little predictable. I would definitely look forward to the author continuing on and developing a series of books around this main character.
Never read a McNab in my life. It took me a little to get use to his style of writing (he's quite cold), but once I opened my mind and went with it, it's a really good fun non-stop read. Can definately see the appeal. Good plain honest fun.
