“I liked this book far more than I expected to”
I liked this book far more than I expected to – it’s very much a chat with a friend!
Written in a conversational style, often starting a chapter with a question received from a journalist or entrepreneur, which he then answers in his down-to-earth yet very practical manner. I enjoyed the variety of topics, the stories and anecdotes along with the advice given. The short chapters make it easy to pick & put down and help it to feel fresh at every turn, but it is also surprisingly free of jargon and packs enough humour in to make it feel almost inappropriate for work (but then this is the man who shuns ties and “stuffy” business in favour of practical, open and customer focussed)
Ultimately this is a book full of good business advice from one of the best in the business, one who will openly admit that he’s made mistakes, struggles to read & write (he has dyslexia) and enjoys his life kite-surfing n Necker Island!
The audiobook is narrated by Adrian Mulraney & he brings the text to life well, yet lets Richard Branson’s voice come through too.
