A book to pass on to daughters, recommend to friends. Caitlin is really good at working out what is going on in a woman's head. Full of insight, thought provoking, wise and above all funny. Of course it is five stars.
What a great funny emotional highly readable book. Caitlin Moran continues to delight with her sharp wit and very human take on life. She shares her life on the page and there feels a connection and understanding of family life and love with the reader. I would highly recommend and have pre-ordered 5 paperbacks for my son and 4 daughters.
I have forgiven the mis-spelling of Timothee Chalamet’s name on page 25 (Timothy), because this book is fantastically funny and put a smile on my face the moment I started reading it. Caitlin just has a way of writing with wit and honesty like no other. Will be passing on to many female friends. Marvellous!!
Absolutely loved the book, it made me howl with laughter and cry more than once. However, the huge amount of typos was very distracting at times. Words misspelled, words missing the wrong choice of word. It all got a bit much at one point and I had to put the book down to have a little rant about the publisher not doing their job of getting a woman's valuable work correctly checked.
I'm a big fan of Caitlin Moran and was so looking forward to the release of this book. The topics are extremely relevant and I was particularly glad to see the mention of caring, which is so often overlooked by authors. I have to make one request though, when printing future editions someone needs to do another proofread of this book! There must have been at least 30 typos and sentences with words missing or words around the wrong way. Sometimes you can overlook this, but there were a few occasions where you actually have to work out what the sentence is trying to say. You really don't expect this many errors in a book, especially when you've paid the cost of a hardback. If it wasn't for that I would give the book 4 stars.
Caitlin Moran is a genius . She finds a way to articulate so exquisitely- life for modern british families . Just as if life was a body of water and we are the fish-she is able to describe for us what that water looks and feels like in ways that we may never have considered .Her intimacy and openness is a riotousness joy . I cried and cried with laughter. Her perception and wisdom offer clarity for the broader issues that face us. Her social commentary is sublime and I cried and cried with the truths she shared about matters that matter to us all .
It is a book for everyone . Everyone should read this book . Really do buy it immediately .
Caitlin Moran delivers another thoroughly entertaining helping of honest opinions and refreshing insights. More Than A Woman combines witty anecdotes and reflections on family life with a sprightly feminist manifesto. A highly enjoyable read.
