Reviews: Reaver (1)

For many Demonica/Lords of Deliverance fans, this was the book they were waiting for. Reaver has been a presence in both series, starting out as the mysterious de-winged angel who goes against everything he's ever known to work at Underworld General saving the lives of demons, to earning back his wings and becoming the heavenly watcher for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Harvester was the bane of his existence, verbal sparring partner, one time torturer (literally) and sheoulic watcher for the Horsemen, a true fallen angel but only because she agreed to be heaven's spy in hell. When Reaver finds this out and discover Harvester has been kidnapped by Satan (who also happens to be her dad) with no one in heaven willing to save her, Reaver sets out to rescue her and discover the truth about how they are connected to one another.

This is book is full of surprises, both about Reaver's past but also Harvester's. Other side characters come to the fore such as Tavin, who must surely have his own book in the future, and Ione sets up the next book through Revenant's interactions with Blaspheme. I was a little worried that 'Reaver' was potentially the last book but am glad to see that it clearly isn't!
