Dan Brown biography and information

Son of a university mathematics teacher, Dan Brown is no stranger to puzzles, secrets and mental challenges. Inspired by Sidney Sheldon's The Doomsday Conspiracy he began to write thrillers in his 40s with his first novel, Digital Fortress. Although his first three novels met with little success, The Da Vinci Code was an instant bestseller making the New York Times Best Seller list in its first week and sparking much intellectual debate and controversy. Two of his novels, The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, have been made into films.

His books have been translated and published into over 50 languages around the world, selling over 200 million copies.
