A manga prodigy, Noriaki Kubo started drawing manga as a child and several of his short pieces had been published in weeklies before his first draft of the hit Zombiepowder appeared when he was just eighteen. The series was published in Weekly Shonen Jump and ran for four volumes. The series that made his name, Bleach, began being serialised in 2001 and ran until 2016. Quickly becoming a huge hit, the series ran to 600 chapters and more than 70 volumes as well as fuelling a popular anime series directed by Noriyuki Abe and several films.
