Kadampa Calendar 2014 The twelve principal deeds of Buddha This Kadampa Calendar displays images of the twelve principal deeds of Buddha rendered by an artist of the New Kadampa Tradition. The twelve principal deeds are key events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism in this world age, who was born as a royal prince in 624 BCE in a place called Lumbini, in what is now Nepal. By displaying these deeds, Buddha reveals how we can enter, make progress on and complete the spiritual path. In this way we are guided to attain full enlightenment: the state in which we are free from all suffering and problems and have the perfect ability to benefit all living beings.
