Simon Scarrow is a British author of historical fiction, responsible for the Eagles of Empire and Revolution series, as well as the Young Adult Gladiator books. After a spell teaching at a sixth form college, Scarrow turned his hand to fiction in 2000 with the first of the Eagles of Empire series, Under the Eagle. Set in the days of the Roman Empire, the series currently stands at eighteen titles. Scarrow has also written a number of novels concerning the interconnected lives of the Duke of Wellington and Napoleon Bonaparte, termed the Revolution series, as well as a successful Young Adult sequence called Gladiator.
