We are happy to refund unwanted items on presentation of a valid receipt or despatch note provided they are returned within 30 days and in pristine condition.

You can return an item to any of our bookshops for a refund or exchange free of charge.

Please bring the despatch note which accompanied your order.

Accompanying your order will be a despatch note. Simply follow the instructions written here and use the included pre-paid returns label to return your item free of charge.

Please note:

  • Be sure to mark the return reason using the codes supplied, and also mark whether you would like a refund or a return.
  • For the return of high-value goods, we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service, as we cannot be responsible for non-delivery of returned items.

Exchange and refund policy

Waterstones is happy to exchange or refund your items on presentation of a valid receipt.

This does not apply to electrical items, where refunds will be given only if the seal is unbroken and exchanges only if they are faulty.

Goods must be returned within 30 days of purchase and be in perfect condition. All refunds and exchanges are at the manager's discretion.

 

Kindle returns policy

To return a Kindle ordered online, the original despatch note must be included.

Waterstones is happy to refund or exchange your goods on presentation of valid proof of purchase. All goods must be returned within 30 days of purchase in the original packaging and be in resalable condition.

This policy may not apply to specially ordered items.

Waterstones will help you resolve any issues with your Kindle. In the event that it is faulty, we will replace the item within 30 days of purchase and arrange a replacement for items within the manufacturer's warranty period.

All refunds are processed at the manager's discretion. This does not affect your statutory rights. If youy have any questions, please contact our Customer Support Team.
