We are happy to refund unwanted items on presentation of a valid receipt or despatch note provided they are returned within 30 days and in pristine condition.

Free returns to all Waterstones bookshops

You can return an item to any of our bookshops for a refund or exchange free of charge. Please simply bring the despatch note which accompanied your order.

Accompanying your order will be a despatch note. Please follow the instructions written on this note to return your order free of charge.

Exchange and refund policy terms and conditions

Waterstones is happy to exchange or refund your items on presentation of a valid receipt.

This does not apply to electrical items, where refunds will be given only if the seal is unbroken and exchanges only if they are faulty.

Goods must be returned within 30 days of purchase and be in perfect condition. All refunds and exchanges are at the manager's discretion.
