YA Summer Cringe Fest with Simon James Green, Beth Garrod and Stephanie Kate Strohm

Wednesday 9th August 18:30 at Birmingham

Join Simon James Green (Noah Can’t Even), Beth Garrod (Super Awkward) and Stephanie Kate Strohm (It’s Not Me, It’s You) for this hilarious panel as they discuss the importance of funny books and reveal their characters’ most embarrassing moments (and a few of their own!) chaired by UKYABA award-winning blogger Chelle Toy from Tales of Yesterday.

Simon, Beth and Stephanie believe that laughter truly is the best medicine in a world that can be increasingly negative, so sign up and get your cure!

Want to know a little more about our three authors? Here we go-

Simon James Green enjoyed a classic British education of assorted humiliations and barbaric PE lessons before studying Law at university.  Simon brings his gifts for drama, humour and pitch-perfect character development to bear in Noah Can’t Even, the opening chapters of which won him selection for SCBWI's Undiscovered Voices 2016.

Beth Garrod’s debut novel, Super Awkward published in 2016, but she’s been writing for teenagers for a longer than that, and being awkward in her own life for even longer. Beth worked on the launch of the Radio 1 Teen Awards, which are as much about celebs as they are awesome young people. Since writing Super Awkward Beth has been focusing on pro-social campaigns for young people, mainly working at MTV, the UN and Nickelodeon whilst working on her next book.
Stephanie Kate Strohm is the author of It's Not Me, It's You and the upcoming The Date to Save. She grew up on the Connecticut coast. After graduating with a joint major in theatre and history, she acted her way around the country, performing in more than 25 states. She currently lives in Chicago, and doesn't discriminate against any type of pizza. When she's not writing, she loves baking, walking her dog Lorelei and taking dance cardio classes too seriously.
We hope you can join us for a wonderful evening fully of awkward, funny and cringeworthy stories!
