YA Panel - Issues of Identity: Mental Illness & Diversity in YA

We're bringing you FIVE YA authors, in-store to talk about the significance and growing role of mental health, diversity and identity issues in young adult fiction. The authors attending are:

  • Annabel Pitcher, author of My Sister Lives On The Mantlepiece and new book Silence is Goldfish.
  • Kim Slater, author of Smart, a tale of obsession.
  • Martyn Bedford, local author of Never Ending, a story of grief.
  • Zoe Marriott, author of fantasy series The Name of the Blade which deals with issues of race and gender.
  • Hayley Long, author of Sophie Someone, a new novel about betrayal, trust and recovery.
The evening will consist of a chat between the five author about the topic of identity and diversity in YA, followed by an opportunity for questions from the audience, and a signing session.
