Women on Food, with Kate Young and Charlotte Druckman

Unforunately this event has been cancelled due to unforseen circumstances.

Women have a long history in the kitchen and of writing about such matters. But how much freedom have we had in that? And how much freedom have we had in how it’s been parsed and packaged?―
Charlotte Druckman

We are delighted to bring together food writer Kate Young, author of The Little Library Year, Charlotte Druckman, editor of Women on Food and Priya Basil, author of Be My Guest: a provocative collection of food’s most distinctive female voices.

Bringing their own perspectives as food writers, Kate, Charlotte and Priya will tackle many of the subjects covered in Women on Food, which addresses the contemporary issues faced by women across the food industry, from the #MeToo movement and gender bias, to the intersection of fashion and food, the evolution of food writing, and food as comfort. They will also draw on The Little Library Year – which draws together literature and cooking with nostalgia and creativity – and Be My Guest - a mediation on food and its intimate connections to race, class and community.

Tickets are £10 / £8 including a glass of wine or soft drink. This event has been postponed from November 2019
