Victoria Field and the Camino de Santiago
Thursday 15th September 2016
19:00 at Waterstones, London - Piccadilly
Victoria Field will be reading from her book Baggage, A Book of Leavings, which recounts her journey along the Camino de Santiago after the breakup of her marriage.
Victoria Field’s walk along the pilgrimage route is one of meetings and reflections: whilst one of the pilgrims is Mercury (the messenger), there is nothing fanciful about the encounter; it has an authentic, vivid, down-to-earth magic to it. As she recounts her journey, she also tells the story of her marriage and divorce, weaving the two accounts into a living tapestry of her life: here is the numinous, the sexual, the spiritual, the poetic, the humorous, the sorrowful.
Join Victoria this evening to discuss the experience of pilgrimage and to celebrate the launch of Baggage, A Book of Leavings.
