Titans of Sci-Fi: An evening with Peter F. Hamilton, Stephen Baxter, Adrian Tchaikovsky and Pat Cadigan
Tuesday 4th September 2018
18:30 at Waterstones, London - Piccadilly
Join us for an evening with four of the biggest names in science fiction. Peter, Stephen, Adrian and Pat are leading authors in their genre, and will be joining us in store to discuss their work, new directions the genre is taking, and the place of science fiction today.
Peter F. Hamilton is the author of many bestselling novels, including the Greg Mandel series, the Night’s Dawn trilogy, the Commonwealth Saga, the Void trilogy, and several standalone novels, including Fallen Dragon and Great North Road. Salvation, his new novel, is to be released in September this year: it is the first title in a stunning new trilogy, The Salvation Sequence.
Stephen Baxter is one of the world’s bestselling, and most critically lauded, science fiction authors. He had won a number of awards for his writing, including the Philip K Dick Award, and has been nominated for the Arthur C Clarke Award and the Huge Award in the past. Published in August, his new novel. Xeelee: Redemption, sees Stephen revisit the series which made his name one last time.
Adrian Tchaikovsky is the author of the critically acclaimed Shadows of the Apt series, and his standalone novel Children of Time was the winner of the 30th Anniversary Arthur C Clarke Award for Best Science Fiction Novel. The Hyena and the Hawk is the third instalment in his epic fantasy trilogy, Echoes of the Fall, and was released earlier this year.
Pat Cadigan will be chairing this event. Pat is a multi-award winning author, whose work was a key proponent of the cyberpunk movement. She won a Hugo Award for The Girl Who Went Out For Sushi, and has won the Arthur C Clarke Award twice: for Synners, and Fools.
Please join us for what promises to be a fantastic evening.
