The Word Factory Masterclass: David Constantine celebrate Jean Rhys
Wednesday 1st June 18:30 at London - Piccadilly
Jean Rhys’s greatest work, Wide Sargasso Sea, depicts a woman destroying herself when she is rejected by the man she loves. In an evening of discussion and analysis, the inimitable David Constantine, twice winner of the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award, explores the imagination of a brilliant and troubled writer. He will explain how Rhys has influenced his own texts with close readings of recommended extracts, inviting further exploration of your own writing. As a multi-award winning translator, fiction writer, poet and literary journal editor, Constantine offers passion and authority in his memorable classes.
