The Truth About Keeping Secrets: Savannah Brown, Sarah Ann Juckes and Lisa Williamson in conversation

Poet and writer Savannah Brown will be joining us to discuss her stunning debut novel, The Truth About Keeping Secrets, writing dark subject matters in YA, and LGBTQ+ representation in fiction.

Sydney's dad is the only psychiatrist for miles around their small Ohio town.

He is also unexpectedly dead.

Is Sydney crazy, or is it kind of weird that her dad - a guy whose entire job revolved around other peoples' secrets - crashed alone, with no explanation?

And why is June Copeland, homecoming queen and the town's golden child, at his funeral?

As the two teenagers grow closer in the wake of the accident, it's clear that not everyone is happy about their new friendship.

But what is picture perfect June still hiding? And does Sydney even want to know?

Savannah Brown self-published her bestselling collection of poetry – Graffiti (and Other Poems)– in 2016, which went on to win a Goodreads Choice Award. The Truth About Keeping Secrets is her debut novel, a beautifully written and poignant look at grief, friendship and sexuality – as well as being a twisty high school mystery.

Savannah will be joined by author Sarah Ann Juckes and Lisa Williamson. Sarah’s debut YA novel OUTSIDE is a breath-taking read featuring an unforgettable heroine which shows the true power of imagination. Lisa is the author of All About Mia and the award-winning The Art of Being Normal. Her latest novel, Paper Avalanche, invites us to walk in the shoes of Ro, the daughter of a compulsive hoarder.

Hannah Witton will be chairing the discussion. An award-winning vlogger and influencer whose YouTube channel has attracted 50 million views, Hannah is also the author of debut book Doing It, a handbook exploring sex, relationships & dating.
