'The Treatment' book launch with Sarah Moorhead

Join us for a fantastic evening with local crime and thriller writer, Sarah Moorhead as we celebrate the release of her brand new thriller, The Treatment. The evening will be in conversation with Rob Parker.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

'A wonderful novel. Big ideas wrapped in a plot that moves like a freight train' Stuart Turton

'Compelling and complex, but still emotionally charged and devastating' Helen Fields

'A Clockwork Orange for the modern cohort. A terrifying near future imagined perfectly' Imran Mahmood

The future of law enforcement has arrived, courtesy of private health contractor Janus Justice. Their ground-breaking 'Offender Treatment Programme' has been hailed as the most effective way of tackling crime yet.
As offenders move through the four-tiered system, their needs are dealt with, each tier more drastic in its methods:

Tier One: Low-risk crimes. Physical therapy encouraged
Tier Two: Trauma and addiction. Emotional and psychological reasons for offending are examined
Tier Three: Aversion therapy & moral punishment
Tier Four: Siberia, where all hope is lost

But Grace Gunnarsson, one of Janus' most highly regarded rehabilitation psychiatrists, has uncovered a terrible flaw in the system, one that is allowing people to get away with murder...

'A high-octane, spine-shivering thriller, in which neuropsychology, crime, ethics and justice are melded in a mind-stretching concoction' Philippa East

Born in Liverpool, Sarah Moorhead has told stories since childhood and uses writing as bubblegum for her over-active brain – to keep it out of trouble. Fascinated by meaning, motivation and mystery, she studied Theology at university.

Over the last twenty eight years, apart from teaching in secondary school, S.E.Moorhead has attained a black belt in kickboxing, worked as a chaplain, established a Justice and Peace youth group, and written articles for newspapers and magazines about her work in education and religion.

She still lives in her beloved hometown with her husband Seán, two sons and her black lab, Seamus.

Rob Parker is a married father of three, who lives in Warrington, UK. The author of the Ben Bracken thrillers, Crook’s Hollow and the Audible bestseller Far From The Tree, he enjoys a rural life, writing horrible things between school runs. Rob writes full time, attends various author events across the UK, and boxes regularly for charity.

He spends a lot of time in schools across the North, encouraging literacy, story-telling and creative-writing, and somehow squeezes in time to co-host the For Your Reconsideration film podcast, appear regularly on The Blood Brothers Crime Podcast, and is a member of the Northern Crime Syndicate.
