The Secret Commonwealth: The Book of Dust Volume Two

Thursday 3rd October 16:00 - 17:30 at Twickenham

Join us for a relaxing evening of nibbles and wine and discuss the new Philip Pullman book The Secret Commonwealth.

The Secret Commonwealth
is set 20 years after the events of La Belle Sauvage: The Book of Dust Volume One unfolded, and seven years after readers left Lyra Silvertongue and Will Parry on a park bench in Oxford’s Botanic Gardens in The Amber Spyglass, the final book in the His Dark Materials sequence. The new book takes readers on an exhilarating new journey as student Lyra negotiates a complex and dangerous new world as an adult, venturing across Europe and into Asia, in search of an elusive town said to be haunted by dæmons. It is a timely exploration of what it is to be human, to grow up and make sense of the world around us, from one of the UK’s greatest writers. As we build up for the release of The Secret Commonwealth: The  Book of Dust Volume Two on 3rd October many of our shops will be planning celebratory activities and hosting book groups for the His Dark Materials sequence and La Belle Savage: The Book of Dust Volume One.
