The Secret Commonwealth: The Book of Dust Volume 2 book discussion, celebrating Philip Pullman's newest novel.

Thursday 17th October 18:00 at Basingstoke

Join us on the 17th of October as we celebrate Philip Pullman's new novel with an informal discussion of The Secret Commonwealth, second in The Book of Dust series.

In 2017, Philip Pullman almost teasingly referred to the new sequence of novels as an ‘equel’, rather than anything so conventional as a sequel.

Set in the world so masterfully established by Philip Pullman in his trilogy His Dark MaterialsLa Belle Sauvage is a story of survival, secrets, intrigue and vengeance, exploring the beginning of Lyra's story.

In The Secret Commonwealth: The Book of Dust Volume Two, we finally begin to understand the full meaning of his intent, the upcoming book picking up the climactic strands of The Amber Spyglass, seven years on, whilst simultaneously drawing on the stage set by La Belle Sauvage, twenty years earlier.

Join us for an informal discussion of The Secret Commonwealth, we can't wait to talk to everyone else who loves this world as much as we do!

Refreshments will be provided. Contact us on 01256 460646 or basingstoke@waterstones.com to book your free place and pre-order your copy of The Secret Commonwealth ahead of publication on 3 October.
