The National Youth Orchestra of Iraq: An Evening with Paul MacAlindin and guests

Thursday 25th August 2016
19:00 at Waterstones, London - Piccadilly

Paul MacAlindin is the musical director of the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq, which came through the most difficult and dangerous of times to produce fine music not only in Iraq but also in Britain, Germany and France. Beacons of hope and achievement, the young musicians and their tutors made bridges across their own ethnic divisions, played great music in the most trying and tragic of circumstances, and became their country's best ambassadors in 5000 years.

This evening Paul tells the whole extraordinary story and is joined by guest musician Alya Al-Sultani.

This event is free but please RSVP by telephone 020 7851 2400 or email [email protected]
