The Haunted Library: An Evening of Ghost Stories with Miranda Harrison

Tuesday 6th December 2016
19:00 at Waterstones, London - Piccadilly

Join us for a cosy winter evening of ghostly storytelling with actor Miranda Harrison to celebrate The Haunted Library, recently published by The British Library.

The Haunted Library is a new collection of classic ghost stories, many of which have never before been anthologized, dating from the golden age of the genre in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Each of these stories revolves around the arcane secrets and dark psychic traces to be found in libraries, museums and other treasure troves of hidden knowledge.

So, with the nights drawing in and the temperature dropping, we are thrilled to present this spooky, spine-tingling evening of live storytelling with Miranda Harrison.

Actor, voiceover artist and storyteller, Miranda Harrison is a regular storyteller with The Liars League. Alongside the monthly event of performing themed stories, her work with them includes performances at The National Gallery and a featured slot on The Literary Pub Crawl. Miranda is regularly cast in rehearsed readings for new writing development, such as at Theatre 503, and she also runs new writing event Page to Stage. Stage roles range from the classics (e.g. Nurse, Romeo & Juliet; Mother, Blood Wedding) to contemporary  (e.g. Vi, The Memory of Water; multiple roles, The Vagina Monologues). TV includes UTU, BBC World; co-presenter History Fix, BBC4; film includes Breathing In, Facefilms; The Last Minute, Palm Pictures. Voiceover work includes BBC Children in Need; voicing online tutorials for clients such as Cisco and ebay; and a best-selling English-language teaching pack for Italian teenagers.
