The Glass Girl: An Evening with Kathleen Glasgow

Join us in welcoming Kathleen Glasgow to celebrate the publication of 'The Glass Girl', a gripping new novel based on her deeply personal experience of addiction and healing. 'The Glass Girl' is the story of Bella, a teenage girl overwhelmed by the demands of her life.

I AM THE PROBLEM. IT’S ME. I’M THE PROBLEM THAT NO ONE WANTS TO SOLVE OR LOVE.

Bella’s mother needs support post-divorce, her father relies on her to care for her sister, and her ex-boyfriend expects her to manage her emotions. The only person who has never asked anything of Bella was her grandmother, whose recent death leaves Bella adrift. To cope with the mounting pressure, Bella turns to alcohol, which temporarily smooths the jagged edges of her existence. That is until a fateful night at a party changes everything. Bella wakes up in hospital with a fractured cheek bone, no memory of the night before and a viral video circulating.

Forced to face the harsh truth of her new reality, Bella is strong-armed into entering rehab marking the beginning of a journey to recovery and the piecing together of her fragmented life. Writing from personal experience of alcoholism and ‘expert self-medication’, Glasgow explores addiction, and recovery with sensitivity and hope in this highly anticipated and deeply moving new book.

Kathleen Glasgow is the author of the internationally bestselling novels Girl in Pieces, How to Make Friends with the Dark, and You’d Be Home Now. She is also the co-author of the New York Times bestselling teen mysteries The Agathas and The Night in Question.
