The Cassava Republic Press Salon with Leye Adenle, Elnathan John and Sarah Ladipo Manyika

Monday 11th April 19:00 at London - Piccadilly

Celebrating their arrival in the UK, Waterstones Piccadilly is thrilled to welcome leading African publishers Cassava Republic Press for an evening of conversation and readings with three of their most powerful authors.

Leye Adenle’s Easy Motion Tourist is a thrilling and dark contemporary crime novel based in the mega-city of Lagos. A writer of flash fiction and short stories, Leye’s debut novel is described as pulsating with rhythm as he explores the dark side of Nigeria.

Born on a Tuesday by Elnathan John is a coming-of-age novel that explores issues of extremism and fundamentalism, taking us behind the scenes of Boko Haram. Trained as a lawyer, Elnathan is one of Nigeria’s best-known satirists; his story Bayan Layi was shortlisted for The Caine Prize for African Writing.

Ageing, love and loss are at the heart of Sarah Ladipo Manyika’s sensuous novel Like a Mule bringing Ice Cream to the Sun. Praised by Aminatta Forna as gorgeously uplifting, this is a compelling story with a host of brilliant characters to illuminate the force of nature that is 75-year-old Moraya Da Silva.

Join the authors and Cassava Republic Press for a scintillating night of brilliant new fiction!

£5 tickets (redeemable against purchase of a book on the night) are available in-store, by telephone 020 7851 2400 or by email piccadilly@waterstones.com
