TCR Presents: An Evening with The Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction Shortlist 2019

Join us at Waterstones TCR for an evening with the authors shortlisted for the 2019 Baillie Gifford Prize: the UK’s most prestigious award for non-fiction writing.

Hosted by Razia Iqbal, the evening will include readings and discussion with the shortlisted authors, an audience Q&A session and a book signing.

The shortlist for the Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction explores everything from racial politics and community secrets to iconic figures and powerful ideologies. Formerly known as The Samuel Johnson Prize (1999 – 2015), The Baillie Gifford Prize covers all non-fiction in the areas of current affairs, history, politics, science, sport, travel, biography, autobiography and the arts.

Last year’s winner was Serhii Plokhy for Chernobyl: History of a Tragedy, the definitive account of the 1986 nuclear disaster that inspired the hit HBO miniseries.
