Taylor Jenkins Reid in conversation with Suze Olbrich

Tuesday 26th March 18:30 at London - Gower Street

For a while, Daisy Jones and the Six were everywhere. Their albums were on every turntable, they sold out arenas, their sound defined an era. And then, on July 12 1979, they split. Nobody ever knew why. Until now.

Join Suze Olbrich in conversation with author Taylor Jenkins Reid about her latest novel Daisy Jones and The Six, a wild story written in the form of oral biography, about the highs and lows of fame; an all-consuming retelling of the rise and fall of the band whose name was on everyone’s lips in the rock and roll era of the late 70s.

From the early days to the drug-fuelled nights, this is an all-consuming retelling of ambition and passion that made Daisy Jones and the Six. It was a time of sexual tension, tough decisions and missed opportunities. And while this aims to be a true story, everyone remembers the truth differently.

The novel has claimed fandom among Reese Witherspoon, Edith Bowman and Lucy Mangan; listed in Stylist, The Times, inews and others' top reads for 2019; and Amazon has already commissioned a 13-part series produced by Reese Witherspoon and written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (The Disaster Artist, 500 Days of Summer, The Fault in Our Stars).

Join Taylor on a brief visit to the UK, as she reveals the inspiration for the perfectly-imperfect Daisy Jones, the influence of music on her writing, and takes questions from the audience.

Tickets are £10/8 (students/Waterstones cardholders) and include a glass of wine or soft drink
