#SciFiSessions with Claire North, Megan Hunter and Anne Corlett
Monday 14th May 18:30 - 20:30 at London - Gower Street
Join us for a #SciFiSessions event showcasing three superb authors: Claire North, Megan Hunter, and Anne Corlett.
Claire North is the winner of the Campbell Memorial Award and World Fantasy Award, as well as a nominee for the Carnegie Medal and Arthur C. Clarke Award, amongst others. The author of some of the most inventive and mind-bending science fiction of recent years, she'll be discussing her latest novel 84K, a politically charged rollercoaster which asks "What if your life were defined by a number? What if any crime could be committed without punishment, so long as you could afford to pay the fee assigned to that crime?" This will be a special early chance to get your hands on copies of this new and exciting addition to Claire's work.
Megan Hunter will be discussing her debut novella, The End We Start From, which with poetic brilliance portrays a near-future London, now mostly submerged under rising water, in which the familiar has become unfamiliar and the safe places have become dangerous. Newly out in paperback, Megan was previously selected for one of our 'Gower Street Presents' debut author showcases.
Last but by no means least, Anne Corlett's debut novel, The Space Between the Stars, is a breath-taking interstellar exploration of life and loneliness, after humanity has been ravaged by a terrible virus and the survivors, spread-out and alone, are trying to survive on distant worlds. Anne's novel is a contemplative and intimate work which breaks down the expectations of dystopian fiction.
Having just one of these authors in-store would be a treat, to have three such talented writers is a bounty of untold riches. Join us as they talk to Glyn Morgan about their work.
£8 (£6 students) tickets are available via Eventbrite (below) and in store, and include a glass of wine.
