Raven Smith in conversation with Pandora Sykes at Waterstones Piccadilly

Join us and Raven Smith to celebrate the paperback publication of Raven Smith’s Men. Part memoir, part exploration of the peculiar dynamics and amorphous boundaries of masculinity, Raven looks unflinchingly at his own history, offering a cautious reverence of a life lived in parallel with other men. Blending the personal, the primal and the perennial, these are Raven Smith's men in all their infuriating, labyrinthine complexity. Raven will be in conversation with fellow author Pandora Sykes.

Raven Smith has been 32 for several years and lives in London with his husband and cat. The current Vogue and former Sunday Times columnist is quoted by many as the funniest person on Instagram, which does nothing to minimise his ego. His first book, Trivial Pursuits, was a Sunday Times best-seller.

Pandora Sykes is a journalist and broadcaster. She has written for The Sunday Times, The Guardian, ELLE, Vogue, GQ and The Cut and is the creator of multiple podcasts and audio documentaries including The High Low, Unreal and Book Chat and the host of The Missing. In 2020 she published a Sunday Times best-selling essay collection How Do We Know We’re Doing It Right and in 2022 an anthology, What Writers Read: 35 Writers On Their Favourite Book, which she edited in aid of the National Literacy Trust. Pandora has interviewed numerous authors, including David Nicholls, Leila Slimani, Graham Norton and Candice Carty-Williams. She also writes a newsletter on Substack, Books + Bits.

Please note: Book and ticket option includes a paperback copy of Raven Smith’s Men (RRP £9.99) available for collection on the night.
