Poetry Reading by Candlelight

Penelope Shuttle and Alyson Hallett will be here at Waterstones Canterbury to read from LZRD: a magical tour of the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall taking in its wonders of serpentine stone, beaches, celtic churches and azure seas. Penelope Shuttle has published numerous collections, most recently Will You Walk A Little Faster? (Bloodaxe Books 2017), and her new book, Lyonesse, appears, also from Bloodaxe, Spring 2021.Alyson Hallett works part-time for the Royal Literary Fund and her latest pamphlet of poems, Toots, was shortlisted for the Michael Marks and Callum MacDonald Memorial Awards. They will be joined by local writer and poetry therapist, Victoria Field, author of the pilgrimage memoir, Baggage: A Book of Leavings, who will read from her new collection, A Speech of Birds.
