274 Theatre in collaboration with Full Sail Productions present
MYSTERY-BOUFFE
Written by Vladimiar Mayakovsky
Translated and adapted by Rosy Carrick and Konstantin Kamenski

A unique promenade, site-specific revival of Mystery-Bouffe.

In celebration of the centenary of the Russian Revolution, we are reviving the atmosphere of 1917 Russia, in a new version of Mystery-Bouffe by Vladimir Mayakovsky. This immersive, site-specific production pays homage to the original production, directed by Vsevolod Meyerhold and designed by Kazimir Malevich.

The aesthetics of the production create a journey across the entire 20th century and the crèmè de la crèmè of the Russian avant-garde, which has in turn influenced the art world on a global scale.

Exploring Russian supremacism and surrealism, the physical journey of the production will take place across all the floors of the historical building of Waterstones Piccadilly. The audience will be guided through the space by the group of The Unclean, who will introduce them to all layers of the story and guide them through to a promised land.
