Tuesday 11th September 2018
18:30 at Waterstones, London - Piccadilly

BBC Radio and News presenter Mishal Husain will be joining us in store to share her experience and advice in forging a path to success, as well as discuss the presence of systemic obstacles in professional life, with Elizabeth Day.

Mishal Husain is an award-winning broadcaster known for a number of acclaimed interviews and documentaries, both in Britain and abroad. In her debut book The Skills, Husain draws from her own experience as well as discussions with inspirational figures such as Martha Lane Fox and Malala Yousafzai, to inspire women to see their ambitions as an achievable reality. The Skills offers practical tools for overcoming workplace struggles, means of gaining confidence and authority, and how best to learn from past failures.

“A compelling primer on how women can forge a path to success. The practicality and clarity of Husain's advice offers a source of new strength for women in the daily battle to both fulfil their potential and get their due in the workplace” - Tina Brown

Elizabeth Day is a renowned interviewer and author. In her recently launched eight week podcast series How To Fail, Day interviews a number of household names on their techniques for coping with failures or setbacks, and subsequently how best to learn from our mistakes while keeping faith for a brighter future. Her latest novel, The Party has been dubbed 'impeccable, suspenseful and clever', providing proof of her written as well as journalistic talent.

Both Mishal and Elizabeth argue for women's ability to succeed unperturbed by failures or discrimination in the workplace; join us for what promises to be a fascinating evening of discussion.
