Michelle Zauner in conversation with Nikesh Shukla

Join us for what promises to be an unmissable evening of conversation as we launch Crying in H Mart, the complex and thought-provoking memoir from Michelle Zauner, the indie music star known as Japanese Breakfast.

Vivacious and plainspoken, lyrical and honest, Michelle Zauner's voice is as radiantly alive on the page as it is onstage. An exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, this is a book to cherish, share and reread.

Michelle will be in conversation with novelist and screenwriter, Nikesh Shukla. His most recent book Brown Baby, a beautifully intimate and soul-searching memoir, was published in February 2021.

Indie rock band Japanese Breakfast has won acclaim from major music outlets around the world for releases Psychopomp (2016) and Soft Sounds from Another Planet (2017). Their new album, Jubilee, came out in June 2021. Crying in H Mart is Michelle Zauner’s first book and is a New York Times bestseller.

Please note that the Ticket & Book option for this event requires a UK postal address. Please do not select this option if you do not have a valid UK postal address as you will not receive the book and may still be charged. Books will be posted after the event and so will arrive a few days later.
