Maria Dahvana Headley Talks THE MERE WIFE

Maria Dahvana Headley joins us to discuss her much-feted feminist Beowulf retelling The Mere Wife, a resetting of the epic poem to American suburbia focused on the women of the story. Focused on the clash between two mothers, one a middle class suburbanite and the other a battle-hardened veteran, this prose retelling breathes new life into the classic epic.

Maria will be interviewed by DIVA Magazine's book editor Kaite Welsh, discussing updating Beowulf into a modern setting, taking the male-focused epic and centring on the women, and more before signing books.

Come along, and don't miss this chance to meet the author of one of the most anticipated feminist books of 2018!

Complimentary wine and refreshments will be provided. Books purchased on the night will be eligible for a discount against the cost of tickets.
