Letters to the Earth

Wednesday 19th February 2020
19:00 - 21:00 at Waterstones, Norwich - Castle Street

We live in disturbing times, with the threats from climate change becoming ever more terrifyingly apparent. To counter and capture this despair, the largest creative response to climate change was put together by Culture Declares Emergency and published as "Letters to the Earth"; a collection of writings which together attempt to encompass and understand the challenges we face as a species.

We have one of the contributors to "Letters..." coming into store, singer and vocal activist Mary Benefiel, who will be talking about her contribution to the book and then will lead us in a series of activities to help us create our own response to the Emergency.

Rupert Read, Associate Professor of Philosophy at the UEA and spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion will also be joining us to talk about the need for activism and real, radical change in a world that's getting hotter year on year.
