Kiran Millwood Hargrave and Anna James in conversation

Thursday 4th October 18:30 at London - Piccadilly

Kiran Millwood Hargrave and Anna James will be joining us in store to discuss their latest novels, as well as the importance of children’s literature and the canon they both draw from.

Kiran Millwood Hargrave  is the bestselling author of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize-winning The Girl of Ink & Stars, and the Costa shortlisted The Island at the End of Everything. Her new middle-grade novel, The Way Past Winter, is the story of Mila, Oskar and their sisters. Living in a small forest cabin in the snow, they’re visited by a fur-clad stranger one night, seeking shelter for himself and his men. What follows is an epic adventure into the north, crossing frozen wild-lands to find a way past eternal winter.

Anna James’ debut, Pages & Co.: Tilly and the Bookwanderers, is a captivating, curl-up-on-the-sofa middle-grade novel about the magic of books and the power of imagination. Since her mother’s disappearance, Tilly has found comfort in the stories at Pages & Co., her grandparents’ bookshop. However, when her favourite characters, Anne of Green Gables and Alice from Wonderland appear in the shop, she comes to discover her ability to bookwander into any story she chooses…

Please join us for what promises to be a truly special evening.
