Japan Now returns to Manchester! Urban Japan comes under the microscope in Motoya’s Picnic In The Storm, and Oyamada’s The Factory, through their intriguing twists on reality. The authors discuss their work and take questions from the audience.
Yukiko Motoya is winner of the Akutagawa Prize and the Kenzaburo Oe Prize. Picnic in The Storm is their highly praised English language debut.
Hiroko Oyamada has won the Shincho Prize for New Writers, the Oda Sakunosuke Prize, and the the Akutagawa Prize. The Factory explores the indictment of contemporary work culture.
