For International Women’s Day, join poets Deborah Alma (aka The Emergency Poet), Jill Abram, Michelle Penn and Jacqueline Saphra to celebrate the launch of #MeToo, a new poetry anthology of women’s experiences and responses inspired by the #MeToo campaign.
All profits from the book will go to Women's Aid UK.
In her call out for submissions, Deborah wrote, ‘I am particularly interested in reading poems that look at these experiences both straight in the face but also as Emily Dickinson says, to ‘Tell all the truth but tell it slant’.
Poets in the volume include Helen Ivory, Pascale Petit, Jacqueline Saphra, Sabrina Mahfouz, Kim Moore, Katrina Naomi, Emma Simon, Abegail Morley, Elisabeth Sennitt Clough, and it will have an introduction by Jess Phillips MP.
Join us for an evening of readings, responses and empowerment on this most important International Women’s Day. Books will be on sale at the event.
