In Conversation with Charlotte Williams

Join us to celebrate a very important and touching book, Sugar and Slate by Charlotte Williams. In association with Planet Books, a new edition of this seminal book of Welsh literature has been re-published by Parthian Books with an introduction by Professor Hazel V. Carby.

The evening will include an interview, Q&A and book signing. Tickets are £3 and include free drinks on the night!

We'd love for you to also join us in our reading and discussion of Sugar and Slate in our free October book club, held on the 27th October - see bookclub listing for details.

"This is both a personal memoir and a story that speaks to the wider experience of mixed-race Britons. It is a story of Welshness and a story of Wales and above all a story for those of us who look over our shoulder across the sea to some other place."

Professor Charlotte Williams OBE is Chair of the BAME communities, Contributions and Cynefin in the New Curriculum Working Group. She is Honorary Professor at the School of History, Philosophy and Social Sciences at Bangor University and Honorary Fellow at University of South Wales.
