Deutschi Crime Night

Thursday 11th June 19:00 at London - Piccadilly

German authors Sascha Arango and Bernhard Aichner, along with translator Anthea Bell, Dr. Katharina Hall, Charlotte Ryland and critic Barry Forshaw discuss the long awaited invasion of German Crime Fiction.

Page-turning, dark and with an anti-hero to rival Highsmith's Tom Ripley, international bestseller The Truth and Other Lies will have you gripped, second-guessing the line between truth and fiction. Written by the prize-winning screenwriter of German crime drama, Tatort, this hugely entertaining novel, tells the story of Henry Hayden: a famous novelist with more money than he can spend, a grand house in the country, a loyal, clever wife. But Henry has a dark side. If only the readers and critics who worship his every word knew that his success depends on a carefully maintained lie. A lie he will stop at nothing to protect.

Kill Bill meets Dexter via The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Woman of the Dead is a wild ride of a thriller where the first stage of grief is revenge. And revenge is a dish best served bloody. In Bernhard Auchner, European crime fiction has found a starlingly original new voice, and Woman of the Dead is as stylish as it is unputdownable.
