Cyberman with Two Heads

Comics creators Veronika Muchitsch, Dan Locke and Alex Frith in conversation with broadcast journalist Alex Fitch for Cartoon County

We are a social species, whose brains have evolved to work cooperatively. But how do our brains work when we spend our life exclusively online? This double-bill, hosted by Brighton’s local comics network Cartoon County, celebrates the publication of Cyberman (Myriad, 26 May) by Veronika Muchitsch. Veronika’s graphic documentary is a record of  the life of a blogger who never goes outside, but streams his life online 24/7.  Broadcast journalist Alex Fitch will also be in conversation with comics creators Dan Locke and Alex Frith, who, together with neuroscientists Uta and Chris Frith, created the much-praised Two Heads (Bloomsbury, 2022) about how our brains work with others.

Please note that there is some maintenance in the shop meaning that unfortunately the lift will not be operational for the next few weeks, including during this event, and therefore customers should be prepared to use the stairs. The event space is up three flights of steps, all steps have a handrail but unfortunately there is no powered assistance with the lift out of operation. If you have mobility issues or are concerned about this, or would like to view images of the steps in question, please let us know on [email protected] - otherwise we hope you enjoy the event.
