Building Peace in the Middle East with Dan Smith and Phyllis Bennis
Wednesday 18th May 2016
19:00 at Waterstones, London - Piccadilly
The Middle East has such a pivotal role in global politics and yet to many it is a mess, full of paradoxes and contradictions, not to mention propaganda. This is a unique opportunity to hear two leading authors and commentators on the region make sense of the complexities.
Dan Smith (author of the State of the Middle East Atlas and Director of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute) and Phyllis Bennis (author of NoNonsense ISIS and Syria and Fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies and the Transnational Institute) will give an accessible and progressive discussion around the history, current situation and ways to build peace and justice. Followed by Q&A.
