Book Lover's Quiz with Alan Connor and Boatman

Thursday 29th March 19:15 at London - Crouch End

Come one, come all to a light-hearted quiz for book lovers, featuring BBC2’s Alan Connor and the Guardian’s Boatman, crammed with fun questions about books and authors and a sprinkling of not-too-fiendish wordplay.

Alan is well known among quiz aficionados as one of the question editors for BBC2's Only Connect and currently Richard Osmon's House of Games. He is the author of The Joy of Quiz (about why we enjoy remembering things) and Two Girls, One on Each Knee (about the puzzling, playful world of the crossword) and is a crossword columnist for the Guardian and a comedy screenwriter with credits for Have I Got News for You, The Rat Pack, Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe and The Jonathan Ross Show.

Ashley, better known to Guardian readers as Boatman, is one of Britain's most challenging and innovative compilers of cryptic crosswords. He is the author of Boatman - the First 50, a collection of his fiendish and inimitable crosswords, with notes explaining all the wordplay and the story, told in his own words, behind the creation of each puzzle.

Join us from 7.15pm for a fun-filled, quizzical evening and a free glass of wine!
