Alexandra Corrin-Tachibana is a poet who's work has been published in journals and anthologies such as Poetry North, The Moth and Poetry Wales. She has performed around the world at The Winchester Poetry Festival, Aldeburgh Festival and the American Writers Program conference in Portland, Oregon, to name but a few. Alexandra currently resides in the North East, where she teaches Humanities at Newcastle University. She holds a masters in Japanese Language and her work is heavily inspired by the ten years she spent living in Japan.
We are delighted to welcome Alexandra to store for the launch of her debut poetry collection, Sing Me Down From the Dark.
Sing Me Down From the Dark explores the highs and lows of a ten-year sojourn in Japan, two international marriages, a homecoming, and the struggles of cross-cultural relationships. It is full of light and dark, as if the writer herself has been 'caught off guard' in the making of these poems.
Alexandra will be in store to chat about her anthology and sign copies on Friday 11th November at 7pm. Tickets £4.
