BITCH LIT is a monthly book club devoted to new feminist writing and cult classics by women. Join us for endless wine, cheese and irreverent, fun discussion led by literary critic Lucy Scholes and Gower Street's Elizabeth Morris.
On February 8th we will be discussing Diana Athill’s Stet: An Editors Life. In this memoir she recounts tales from a long life in publishing, including her reflections on editing writers such as V. S. Naipaul and Jean Rhys, with characteristic wit and rare candour. Now 100 years old, Diana Athill helped Andre Deutsch establish the publishing company that bore his name and worked as an editor for Deutsch for four decades. She isthe author of numerous critically acclaimed memoirs, including Instead of A Letter and After A Funeral.
