Join Banipal for an evening with Syrian authors Nouri Al-Jarrah and Rosa Yassin Hassan and special guest, Flemish performance poet Charlotte Van den Broeck from Banipal 57’s Guest Literature from Flanders.
From the burning heart of Syria, writers call time on the relentless forced fleeing, deaths and destruction. Nouri A-Jarrah reads and discusses his dramatic poem A Boat to Lesbos, Rosa Yassin Hassan’s novel People under a Spell spans the spectrum of opinion and factions. Plus performance poet Charlotte Van den Broeck, a household name in her native Belgium with poems from her debut collection Chameleon.
