Author Talk with Peter Laws - Things That Go Bump in the Night
Thursday 31st May 19:00 - 21:00 at Chesham
join author Peter Laws
as we examine why we love being scared by all things that go bump in the night.
He will also be reading from his new book The Frighteners.
The Frighteners follows the quest of Peter Laws, a Baptist minister with a penchant for the macabre, to understand why so many people love things that are spooky, morbid and downright repellent. He meets blood-drinking 'vampires', hunts warewolves in Hull, talks to a man who has slept on a mortuary slab to help him deal with a diagnosis, and is chased by undead cannibals through a nuclear bunker.
He asks if this interest in horror culture might even have the power to re-enchant our jaded world?
