Atlas of the Irish Revolution: Mapping the Revolution

Thursday 20th September 19:00 - 20:00 at Cork

Waterstones Cork in association with Cork University Press present the third in the Atlas of the Irish Revolution lecture series. In Mapping the Revolution Mike Murphy takes us on a chronological journey from the Cromwellian plantations, through the famine, to the main period of revolution The Civil War and War of Independence using maps and images from the Atlas in a way never seen before with new insights into the main events. While some of the content is harrowing these elements are interspersed by more light hearted aspects of this troubled period.

Mike Murphy has worked as a professional cartographer in the Geography Dept of University College Cork. He is a member of both the British Cartographic Society and the Society of Cartographers.  He is one of three editors of the Atlas of the Irish Revolution.
