An Evening With The Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction Shortlist

Waterstones TCR is delighted to host an evening featuring the authors shortlisted for the 2018 Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction, before the winner is announced on Nov 14.

Hosted by Razia Iqbal, the evening will include readings from and discussion with the shortlisted authors, an opportunity for questions from the audience, and a book signing.

The 2018 shortlist is:

Imperial Twilight: The Opium War and the End of China's Last Golden Age - Stephen R. Platt

She Has Her Mother's Laugh: The Powers, Perversions and Potential of Heredity - Carl Zimmer

The Baillie Gifford Prize is the most prestigious non-fiction prize in the UK, and aims to reward the best of non-fiction from authors across the world. Formerly known as The Samuel Johnson Prize (1999 – 2015), it covers all non-fiction in the areas of current affairs, history, politics, science, sport, travel, biography, autobiography and the arts.
