An Evening with Simon Hall

Writer and Leeds University historian Simon Hall will be in store to discuss his new book 1956: The World in Revolt60 years on, Simon explores one of the most remarkable years of the twentieth century, a dramatic twelve months that saw ordinary people, all across the world, speak out, fill the streets and city squares, and take up arms in an attempt to win their freedom.  Under challenge, those in power fought back ruthlessly to maintain their position. It was an epic contest, and one which made 1956 - like 1789 and 1848 - a year that changed our world.

Refresments will be provided.

Tickets are free but places must be reserved.
